Shower Refinishing in Pembroke Pines, FL
Not every dated shower needs a full tile-out. Shower refinishing — reglazing the existing tile, fiberglass, or acrylic surround — can restore the appearance of a shower without the timeline or cost of full demolition and retiling.
All surround types
Tile, fiberglass, and acrylic.
Honest assessment
We'll tell you if tile-out is the right answer.
Faster than tile-out
Typically one to two days with curing time.
When refinishing is the right call
If the substrate and waterproofing are in good condition and the only issue is the appearance of the tile or the color of the fiberglass, refinishing is worth considering. It's faster and less expensive than a full tile-out. If the grout has failed, there's mold behind the tile, or the waterproofing has been compromised, refinishing masks a real problem — and in that case, we'll tell you the tile needs to come out.
What refinishing covers
Ceramic and porcelain tile surrounds. Fiberglass shower pans and surrounds. Acrylic and one-piece shower units. Shower floors can also be refinished if the surface condition allows it.
Longevity
A properly applied glaze finish on a shower surround typically lasts five to ten years with good maintenance. It's not permanent. We're direct about that — refinishing is a good-value option when done correctly, not a permanent replacement for tile.
